SCHERPS By-Laws

South Carolina Herpetocultural Society (SCHS) is a not for profit organization that promotes the safe and responsible husbandry of reptiles and SCherps logoamphibians, both native to South Carolina and exotic. Using professional and ethical standards we educate the public with outreach programs at state and community events, reptile expos, and through periodic meetings. We advocate education and minimizing barriers with our community, local, state and federal legislatures regarding the misunderstandings and myths behind reptiles and amphibians and promote the value of these animals and how they can enrich the quality of our lives. We help to aid in locating veterinarians, rescue centers, rehabilitation centers and venom treatment centers. It is our overall social and personal responsibility to represent and protect the reptilian and amphibian life, both native and non native.
